Paul Shychuk
April 30, 1928 ~ November 30, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years OldPaul Shychuk, 89, of West Newton, died peacefully at home, Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born April 30, 1928 in West Newton, a son of the late Charles and Catherine (Woryk) Shychuk. Paul was a lifelong dairy farmer, and was a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. A devoted father and loving grandfather, he loved to hunt. Surviving are three children, Catherine Catalina and husband, Timothy, of Scottdale, Paul J. Shychuk and wife, Lisa, of West Newton, and Christine Ramaley and husband, Todd, of Derry; four grandchildren, Maria Catalina, Todd Michael and Rachel Ramaley, and Katie Shychuk; a sister, Dorothy Kopko of Danbury, Conn.; sisters-in-law, Helen Shychuk of Wyano and Barb Beistel of Irwin; a brother-in-law, Stanley Angelcyk of West Newton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul is now reunited with his wife Clara “Sis” (Angelcyk) Shychuk after 35 years. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lucovitz, Julia Lucas, Anna Shychuk, and Helen Mihalsky; and brothers, Nick, Charles, Stanley, and Andrew Shychuk. Friends will be received 2-8 pm Sunday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 901 Vine St. West Newton. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 am Monday in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. A Parastas service will be held at 6pm Sunday in the funeral home. A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice nurses, Lauren and Taylor.
