William R. Moody, 98, of West Newton, died Monday, February 7, 2022. He was born June 3, 1923 in Rostraver Township, a son of the late Samuel Fenton and Kathleen (Rankin) Moody. Serving during World War II, Bill was a veteran of the US Navy. He spent his life working as a General Contractor and Butler Building Franchise Owner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Margaret (Zozula) Moody; sisters, Louise Mace, Bernice Sandbach, Frances Kelly, and Kay Moody; and an infant brother. He is survived by his loving children, Jeanne (Glen) Ustazewski of West Newton and John (Susan) Moody of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Chad (Brooke) Ustazewski of North Huntingdon and Tara (Evan) Speice of Frisco, Texas; four great grandchildren, Colton, Gemma, and William Ustazewski and Collier Speice; a sister, Ruth Oyer of Urbana, Ohio; in-laws, Mae and Ralph Rich of Scottdale; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 3-7 pm Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where a service will be held at 11 am Friday.
