William R. “Wick” Lovett, 87, of West Newton, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 6, 2021. He was born December 23, 1933 in Alton, Louisiana, a son of the late Lamar and Pauline (Lichey) Lovett. Prior to retirement he was the owner and operator of Lovett’s Garage in West Newton. Wick was a member of First Methodist Church, West Newton. When he would take time off, he loved fishing and being with his family, including spending time at Pine Creek, “the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania”. He enjoyed his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Dolores (Leake) Lovett; children, Lana August and husband, Kerry, Lisa Lowanse and husband, Chris, Lori Horvat and husband, Barry, and William Lovett and wife, Renee; grandchildren, Kristin Moffett and husband, Michael, Chelsea August and fiancé, Adam, Brandon Lowanse, Justin Lowanse; Ashleigh Horvat and fiancé, Michael, Colton Horvat and wife, Kennedy, Dalton Lovett, and Lena Lovett; great grandchildren, Collin Moffett, Mia Rae Mellinger, Olivia Aller, Graidyn, Gracen, and Tydus Hurst, and Benett and Austen Horvat; and a sister, Imogene Stout. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received 3-8 pm Monday at the J. William McCauley, Jr Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton. Masks must be worn and social distancing be maintained. The amount of people permitted in the funeral home at once is 40, so please limit your visit out of respect for others.
