William A. Doney, Sr., 85, of Turkeytown, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. Born April 9, 1940, in West Newton, he was the son of the late George and Ann Doney.
Bill was a devoted husband to Donna Doney for 63 years. He was a loving father to four children: sons, Art and his wife, Michele, Dan and his wife, Jodi, and Kevin and his wife, Jen, and daughter Steph and her husband, Scott.
A lifelong educator and public servant, Bill taught in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District for 37 years. He served his community with distinction on the Westmoreland County Conservation Board for 25 years and the Westmoreland County Farm Bureau Board. He was a member of the Yough School Board of Directors for 12 years.
Bill farmed in South Huntingdon Township since 1966 and was recognized in 2000 as Conservation Farmer of the Year. A founding member of the West Newton Ambulance Service, he also served as a first responder for the Turkeytown Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.
Faith was central to Bill’s life. He was an active member of Bible Alliance Church and Journey by Grace.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Mae; his children, Art and Michele, Dan and Jodi, Kevin and Jen, and Steph and Scott; 12 cherished grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his sister Joan and her husband Lee Dillon of Westminster, MD. He was preceded in death by his parents.
His legacy of service, stewardship, hard work, and quiet strength will live on in the countless lives he touched throughout Westmoreland County.
In lieu of viewing, a Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, November 25, at Journey by Grace, 4803 State Route 51 N, Rostraver Twp., with social time and buffet to follow.
