Walter E. Skero, 86, of Wyano, died Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was born January 27, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Edward and Lottie (Dropik) Skero. Walter served in the Army. He was a member of Seven Dolors Church, Yukon and American Legion Post 446, Mt. Pleasant. An avid golfer, he enjoyed socializing with family and friends and going out to eat. Surviving are a son, Mark Skero and wife, Suzanne; a grandson, Brad Skero; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn (Miller) Skero; and sisters, Florence (Joseph) Potocki, Elizabeth (Daniel) Honeychuck, Irene (Michael) Palko, Ann (Frank) Visocky, Mary (Frank) Kuzar, and Violet (Bill) Shilbilski. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St., West Newton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday in Seven Dolors Church, Yukon.
