Velma B. Mimnaugh, 94, of West Newton, died Saturday, October 29, 2022. She was born June 3, 1928 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Orie (Davis) Bowman. Velma was a member of First Church of God, West Newton, where she had been active in the children’s ministry. Surviving are six children, Helen Riggs, Richard Mimnaugh and wife, Karen, Lois Barnes and husband, Mark, Melanie Monticue and husband, James, Donna Sheets, and Scott Mimnaugh and wife, Michelle; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Mimnaugh; and siblings, Hazel Wood, Frank Bender, Iona Diamond, and June Bennett. Friends will be received 10 am – 12 pm Tuesday at the First Church of God, 157 N. 2nd St., West Newton, where services will be held at 12 pm. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God, West Newton. Arrangements entrusted to the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, West Newton.
