Thomas J. Troup, 90, of West Newton, died Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was born March 18, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Thomas and Ethel (Williams) Troup. Prior to retirement he was a South Huntingdon Township Supervisor and worked as a bus driver and stone mason. The Wyano ball field was named in his honor. Tom enjoyed spending time at his garage and his cabin. He believed that “the lease on life is you’ve got to keep moving”. Surviving are seven children, Judy (Jim) Brunner of Smithton, Robert (Darlene) Troup of West Newton, Linda (John) Krasnevich of Mechanicsburg, Dian (Gary) Williams of Ruffsdale, Eddie (Lisa) Troup of West Newton, Ritchie (Karen) Troup of Ruffsdale, and Alan (Rhonda) Troup of Smock; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane (Brown) Troup; a granddaughter, Bethany; and sisters, Meredith Penn, Gloria Churjak, and Katherine Kephart. There will not be any services at this time. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
