Theresa F. (Muha) Swope

Theresa F. Swope, 94, of West Newton, died Saturday, August 16, 2025.  She was born September 11, 1930 in Donora, a daughter of the late Stephen and Maria (Martonik) Muha.  Theresa was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, West Newton.  She enjoyed playing BINGO, eating out, and watching westerns, Christmas movies, and the Steelers.  Surviving are four children, Melissa Petros and husband, James, Patricia Calcagni and husband, Ralph, Kenneth Swope, and John Swope and wife, Heidi; seven grandchildren, James and wife, Veronica, Daniel and wife, Heather, Brandon, Ryan, Mary, Mitchell, and Brooke; seven great grandchildren, Kaden, Madisyn, Nikolai, Jada, Jaiden, Jah-Kota, and David; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Swope; and brothers and sisters, Margaret Haluch, John Muha, Joseph Muha, Stephen Muha, Jr., George Soltis, Agnes D’Egidio, Pauline Romeo, Mary Bellan, Sr. Mary Ann Muha, and Marie Troychak.  Friends will be received 4-8 pm Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St., West Newton.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in Holy Family Church, West Newton.  Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.  Condolences may be left at http://www.mccauleyfuneralhome.com.
