Shirley A. Hoke, 58, of Elizabeth, died Monday, January 25, 2021. She was born December 3, 1962 at Ft. Eustis, Virginia, a daughter of the late Alvie D. and Mary (Lewis) Hoke. Shirley loved life, country music and Native American folklore. She was a strong woman and a loving mother and sister. Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Hoke and Jodie Davis; sisters Darlene Steiner, Mary Marlene Beaken, and Debra Lynagh; a brother, Alvie J. Hoke and wife, Amber; her life partner, Ralph Shuttleworth; and aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Christopher Steiner, Jr.; and Frederick Lewis Davis, Jr. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St. West Newton. Masks must be worn and social distancing be maintained. The amount of people permitted in the funeral home at once is 40, so please limit your visit out of respect for others. Funeral service and burial will be private.
