Russell E. Hildenbrand

Russell E. Hildenbrand, 96, of Sutersville, died Tuesday, July 25, 2023.  He was born January 17, 1927 in Cowansburg, a son of the late Charles and Annie May (Williams) Hildenbrand.  Prior to retirement he was employed by Sutersville Lumber.  Russell was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, West Newton.  A veteran of World War II serving in the Army, he was also instrumental in the development of the youth ball fields in Sutersville.  Surviving are three children, Steve Hildenbrand and wife, Cheryl, Lisa Hildenbrand, and Amy Heltebran and husband, Daniel; three grandchildren, Jennifer DeFlitch and husband, Jason, Erik Nordby, and Graeson Nordby; and two great grandchildren, Isabella and Ainsley DeFlitch.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa (Kreminsky) Hildenbrand; sister, Margaret Leasure; and brothers, David and James Hildenbrand.  We are so grateful to the staff and team at Weatherwood Manor for their care and support.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at the J.
