Obituary
Russell F. DiVirgilio, 91, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Perryopolis, died Thursday, March 23, 2023. He was born February 18, 1932 in Delmont, a son of the late Michael and Edith (Mitchell) DiVirgilio. Prior to retirement he was employed by US Steel Clairton Works. Russell was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, West Newton and the Sons of Italy, Perryopolis. A veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army, he was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Margaret Lander; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra Sue (Pregrad) DiVirgilio; and several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received 10-11 am, with a Funeral Service at 11 am, Monday in Faith Lutheran Church, 820 Plummer School Road, West Newton. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church. Arrangements entrusted to the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, West Newton.
