Roger A. Stewart

Roger A. Stewart, 93, of West Newton, died Friday, August 18, 2023.  He was born April 11, 1930, son of the late Alfred and Laurel (Marsh) Stewart.  Prior to retirement he was employed for over 47 years by US Steel Clairton Works.  Roger was a member of West Newton Methodist Church; and loved spending time with his family, relaxing at the senior center, and dancing with his partner, Beverly.  Surviving are a son, David Stewart and wife, Donna; a son-in-law, Richard Converso; grandsons, Eric and Adam Converso; numerous great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Louise (Swartz) Stewart; daughter, Jean Converso; and sister, Jean Blankman.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10 am Wednesday.  Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to West Newton Center for Active Adults, 103 E.
