Rick E. Waggoner, 60, of Sutersville, formerly of Charleroi, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was born May 10, 1963, a son of the late Robert and Roberta (Williams) Waggoner. Rick was a member of the West Newton Volunteer Fire Company for 29 years, serving as chief engineer. He formerly was a member of the Charleroi Fire Department. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Missy (Wilson) Waggoner; son, Shawn Waggoner; brother, Robert Waggoner and wife, Linda; sisters, Rhonda House and husband, Charles, and Resee Bick and husband, Michael; brother-in-law, Paul Wilson and wife, Marlene; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Raina Roberts; and close friend, Bill Davis. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where a funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to assist with funeral expenses, through the funeral home website or directly to the funeral home.
