Reta A. (Herbert) Thorne

Reta A. Thorne, 93, of Gratztown, died Sunday, June 4, 2023.  She was born January 9, 1930 in Frank, daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Herbert.  Reta was a member of Wesleyan Nazarene Church of West Newton and an avid Christian woman.  She was a great homemaker and mother.  Surviving are her children, Terri (Brent) Garrick, Dwayne (Sheri) Thorne, Tracey (Scott) Lane, and Larry (Jaci) Thorne; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexander, Andrew, and Alyse Thorne, Emily (Austin) Rowland, Logan (Caysi) Thorne, Zachary (Kayla) Thorne, and Gabrielle Thorne; a great grandchild, Noah; and a brother, Paul Herbert.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred E. Thorne on May 30, 2023; grandsons, Michael Garrick and Nathan Thorne; and siblings, Mary Margaret Weston, Robert Herbert, Clyde Herbert, Jr., and Betty Handley.  Services will be private.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Nazarene Church, 310 Pittsburgh St., West Newton, PA 15089.  Arrangements entrusted to the J.
