Priscilla L. “Sis” Hogan, 94, of West Newton, died Sunday, December 14, 2025. She was born April 23, 1931, daughter of the late Arthur H. and Iva G. (Jones) King. Sis had a devotion to the Blessed Mother and was a member of Holy Family Church, West Newton, and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers; and where she, along with her best friend, Michaelene Lovato, coordinated the Faith Formation program. She enjoyed working as a receptionist for her son’s dental practice for 20 years, along with her best friends, Nancy and Karen. Along with her cousin, Shirley Jones, were the last two surviving direct blood descendants of William B. Jones, founder of the Jones Brewing Company. Sis was a graduate of Allegheny College where she was a member of the Kappa Gamma Sorority, which her granddaughters, Julie and Emily, joined because of her. Surviving are hers sons, Timothy Hogan and wife, Kathleen, and Michael Hogan and wife, Roberta; daughter-in-law, Marianne Hogan; grandchildren, Rory, Julie (Michael) Zappone, Emily (Greg) Erceg, Caitlyn, Brenna, Jennifer (Thomas) Slavic, and Matthew; eight great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. Hogan; her son, Edwin P. Hogan, DMD; and brother, Dr. Arthur H. King, Jr, MD. Friends will be received 10:30 to 11:30 am Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St., West Newton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 pm in Holy Family Church. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. Thank you to her special caregivers, Melanie, Carol, Candy, and Michaele for their devoted loving care; and to the staff at Heartland Hospice.
