Osburn E. “Ozzy” Johnson, 65, of West Newton, died Thursday, May 9, 2024. He was born May 6, 1959, in Morgantown, West Virginia, a son of the late John and Margaret (Ruble) Johnson. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Regal Industries in Donora. Ozzy kept busy helping local people with lawn mower and small engine repairs. An avid hunter who loved to fish, he was a member of the West Newton Moose. Ozzy missed his wife and daughter very much. Surviving are four children, Christopher Johnson, Katherine (Lint) McAlister (Brian), Osborne Johnson, Jr. (Amber Hinerman), and James Cartwright (Lindsay); four grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Hinerman, and Logan and Ian McAlister; four sisters, Betty, Viola, Laura Bell, and Norma Jean; a brother, Robert; his best friend, Pam Holland; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Lint) Johnson; and a daughter, Tina Johnson. Friends will be received 4-6 pm Monday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10 am Tuesday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
