Norma “Nunny” Stoner, 94, of West Newton, died Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born June 7, 1929 in Gratztown, a daughter of the late John Little and the late Edna (Crise) Squires. Prior to retirement she was a cook at several area restaurants. Norma was a member of First Baptist Church where she participated in its Fellowship group and the Sew and Grow club. She loved to crochet and proudly gave away her handmade hats, booties, and scarves. Norma enjoyed cooking and baking, especially pies, and was known as the “candy apple lady” in her neighborhood. She also liked to travel on bus trips with her friends. Surviving are two children, Harry David Stoner and wife, Helen, and Holly Jo Doyle and husband, Keith; grandchildren, David A. Stoner and wife, Lydia, Shawn M. Stoner and wife, Kristin, Aaron C. Doyle, and Eric M. Doyle and wife, Holly; great grandchildren, Reagyn, Reid, and Alexandra Stoner, and Morgan, Kash, and Ember Doyle; sisters, Henrietta Doyle and husband Ernie, Barb Scalercio, and Sara Shaffer and husband, Phil; brother, John Little; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Stoner; and her stepfather, Henry Squires. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Saturday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
