Mary Ann Harris, 84, of West Newton, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022. She was born March 29, 1938 in Elizabeth a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Balko) Kurutz. Mary Ann was a member of Holy Family Church, West Newton, and its Christian Mothers. A former Girl Scout leader and member of bowling teams, she was an avid bird feeder. Mary Ann dedicated her life to caring for her family. Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Ulish and husband, Michael, and Pam Suehr and husband, Paul; six grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Smartnick, Emily Sever, Jennifer (Elliott) Gill, Jacob Ulish, Jillian Ulish, and Brett Suehr; five great grandchildren, Mackenzie Smartnick, Jackson, Elizabeth, and Eloise Gill, and Genevieve Sever-Jurcevich; and a son-in-law, Walter Sever. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Harris; daughter, Debbie Sever; and sister, Norma Patterson. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday in Holy Family Church, West Newton. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
