Martha R. (Berdar) Carlock

Martha R. Carlock, 91, of Smithdale, passed Wednesday, July 7, 2021.  She was born December 20, 1929 in Elizabeth Township, a daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Lesso) Berdar, Sr.  Martha was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Church of Donora, Women of the Moose of Sutersville, Russin Club of Donora, and VFW #7812 of West Newton.  Surviving are three children, Larry Carlock, Valerie Salopek, and Kevin Carlock; grandchildren, Jennifer Hineline, Desiree Francis, Brittany Salopek, Charles Carlock, III, Brianne Carlock, Kevin Carlock, Jr., Cody Carlock, and Kayden Carlock; and six great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Yip” Carlock; a sister, Theresa Sosko; and brothers, Emil and Joe Berdar.  Friends will be received 2-6 pm Sunday at the J.
