Margaret Marjorie Ann Balko, 88, of West Newton, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at TLC Adult Care Center, West Newton. She was born August 25, 1929 in Colver, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Sado) Rubisch. She was a member of the West Newton Bible Students. Before moving to West Newton in 1948, she worked as a secretary for the Ebensburg Candy Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Balko; a son, David Andrew; four brothers, Charles, James, John, and George; and by sisters, Mary Balko and Helen Rubisch. Surviving are a son, Michael (Vickie) Balko of Casselberry, Florida; two daughters, Marjorie (Byron) Keith of Bothell, Washington, and Karen (Louis) Speroni of Rostraver Township; eight grandchildren, Deanna Speroni (Bob) Byers, Dana Speroni (Jeff) Kobfleich, Louis III (Casey) Speroni, Jeremy (Allison) Balko, Timothy Balko, Ryan (Kim) Balko, Jonathan (Toshya) Keith, and Aaron Keith; nine great grandchildren, Nolan, Shane, and Devin Byers, Emma Kolbfleich, Ada, Zane, and Connor Balko, and Jackson and Kennedy Keith; a brother, Joseph Rubisch of Picayune, Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St. West Newton, where services will be held at 11 am Friday with Elder George Balko officiating.
