Madeline L. “Shorty” Oblak, 82, of West Newton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 8, 2021. She was born October 6, 1938 in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Cyril and Alice (Seighman) Deruelle. Shorty was a member of First Baptist Church, West Newton. She enjoyed playing the organ and accordion and love polka music. In addition to her parents Shorty was preceded in death by her first husband, James K. “Chunk” Wilson; her second husband, Edgar Oblak; brother, Robert Deruelle; and sisters, Winnifred Harrison and Charlotte Eichner. Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Colosimo and husband, William “Cosmo”; son, Kenneth Wilson and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Stacey Hofmann and Justin Wilson and wife, Mackenzie; great grandchildren, Sommur Hofmann, Autumn Bruno and Luke Wilson; a great great grandchild, Hudson Hughes; sisters, Lorain Crecenzo and Marjorie Yurcevich; and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her granddogs, Honey, Spencer, Gracie, Brutus and Oakley. Friends will be received 3-8 pm Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton. Masks must be worn and social distancing be maintained. The amount of people permitted in the funeral home at once is 40, so please limit your visit out of respect for others.
