Lana R. (Lovett) August

Lana R. August, 67, of West Newton, died Saturday, February 15, 2025.  She was born February 2, 1958, a daughter of Dolores (Leake) Lovett and the late William R. Lovett.  Prior to retirement she was employed by Westmoreland County.  Lana was family oriented and especially loved her grandchildren.  She enjoyed vacations to and spending time with her family at the beach.  In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kerry August; daughters, Kristin Moffett and husband, Michael, and Chelsea Mellinger and husband, Adam; grandchildren, Collin “Ship” Moffett, and Mia and Harper Mellinger; sisters, Lisa Lowanse and husband, Chris, and Lori Horvat and husband, Barry; brother, William Lovett; mother-in-law, Patricia “Bette” August, sister-in-law, Darcy King; brother-in-law, Joseph August; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Joseph August; and brother-n-law, David King.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday the J.
