Kenneth J. Balko, 67, of Sewickley Township, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was born May 27, 1953 a son of the late Charles and Ann (Zapp) Balko. After graduating from California University of Pennsylvania in Industrial Arts, he then completed the Carpentry Apprenticeship Program and became a member of Local Union #165, working many years at PW Campbell in several states. Kenny could build and fix anything. He will be deeply missed by his family. Surviving are his wife, Terrie (Merlino) Balko; four children, Katie Balko, Andy Balko, Eliza (Charlie) Buttgereit and Hannah Balko; four brothers, Dennis (Diane) Balko, Douglas (Kathy) Balko, Kevin and Craig Balko; sister-in-law Karen Balko; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Balko; sister, Lori Cyktor and husband, Jeff; a nephew, Alex Merlino; and his father and mother-in-law, John and Theresa Merlino. Friends will be received 3-7 pm Friday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where a service will be held at 10 am Saturday. Masks must be worn and social distancing be maintained. The amount of people permitted in the funeral home at once is 60, so please limit your visit out of respect for others.
