Kathleen V. (Mains) Sette

Kathleen V. Sette, 94, of West Newton, died Friday, April 7, 2023.  She was born February 16, 1929 in Sutersville, a daughter of the late Abraham and Mary (Popella) Mains.  Kathleen was employed as a supervisor in the West Newton Elementary school kitchen for 18 years.  Family and faith guided her life; attending daily Mass at Holy Family Church, praying the rosary and helping community members in need.  She was a founding member of the Christian Mothers organization in 1963 and served as the president for three years, enjoying the dinners, meetings, fundraisers and camaraderie.  In 1970, she was proud to have her family chosen as the Holy Family for Holy Family Parish.  She was always available to support her children’s interests as a scout leader or sewing Halloween costumes.  Kathleen’s social nature drew her to the senior center activities in West Newton and Herminie, hosting card parties at her home and being available for any card playing events.  She had wonderful memories of traveling with family and friends, especially Ocean City every summer.  Family reunions were one of her favorite events.  Surviving are four children, Pam Floriani (John), Connie Crotti (Grant), Primo Sette (Linda), and Shawn Sette and (Jennifer); seven grandchildren, Stacey, Erin, Brian, Joseph, Eric, Katelyn, and Matthew; seven great grandchildren, Olivia, Lucille, Silas, Dominic, Sophia, Kendall, and Alayna; and a brother, Robert Mains.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Primo; sister, Grace Nader; and brothers, Richard, Norman, and George Mains.  There will be no visitation.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 13, 2023 in Holy Family Church, 225 N Second St., West Newton.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, West Newton.  Kathleen was delighted to produce a short film segment about her time at Villa Angela, which is still shown on local TV stations and on the Villa Angela website.  Her family would like to thank the Sisters and staff at Villa Angela for the caring environment they provided for Kathleen.  Arrangements entrusted to the J.
