June I. (Thompson) Nicholson

June I. Nicholson, 94, of Smithdale, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020.  She was born April 24, 1926 in Elizabeth Twp., a daughter of the late David and Mary (McCorkle) Thompson.  Surviving are a daughter, Connie Nicholson; a grandson, Bryan Colvin; son-in-law, Steve Colvin; sister-in-law, Patricia Thompson; special nephews, Glenn Childers and George Smith; and other nephews, nieces and family.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Bud” Nicholson; daughter, Mary June Colvin; sisters, Dorothy Heck and Edith Childers; and brothers, Charles, Clare, and Donald Thompson.  Friends will be received 4-8 pm Friday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St. West Newton, where a service will be held at 11 am Saturday.  For everyone’s protection, please abide by the state’s directives that masks are to be worn and social distancing be maintained.  Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.  Condolences may be left at http://www.mccauleyfuneralhomes.com
