Joseph D. Getchey

Joseph D. Getchey, 70, of Hutchinson, died Wednesday, November 12, 2025.  He was born January 1, 1955, son of the late Joseph and Rose Marie (Adams) Getchey.  Prior to retirement he was employed by Laborer’s Union 373 and Mikel Coal Company.  Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed going to camp.  He also was an accomplished taxidermist.  Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Donna (Smouse) Getchey; sons, Christopher Getchey and Rick Getchey and wife, Bobbi Jo; grandchildren, Logan, Luke, Ricky, Lulu, and Austin; sisters, Jo Ann Arendas and husband, Tom, and Linda Matthews and husband, Ed; and also nephews.  As per his wishes, services and burial were private.  Arrangements entrusted to the J.
