Joel T. “Tim” Lander, 74, of West Newton, died Saturday, June 26, 2021. He was born March 24, 1947 in Greensburg, son of the late Joseph “Jaggers” and Mona Lee (Cumpson) Lander. Tim retired as a Pennsylvania State Trooper in 1996 and as a federal court security officer in 2016. He was formerly employed by the J. William McCauley Jr. Funeral Home, West Newton. A lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, West Newton, he was also a member of FOP #47. He enjoyed many hours of watching his grandsons sporting events. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Linda (Nader) Lander; two sons, Joel “J” Lander and girlfriend, Joyce Hampton and Jeffrey Lander and wife Sheena; two grandsons, Lukas and Chase Lander; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where services will be held at 11 am Thursday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. The FOP will hold a service at 7 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
