JoAnn Zywicki Obituary

JoAnn (Bernadowski) Zywicki, 82, of Fairfax, VA, passed away on the 29th of May, 2025. She was born July 31, 1942, and raised in Sutersville, PA by her parents, Joseph and Anna (Novacek) Bernadowski. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and a tireless school volunteer and team mother to countless youth sports teams. Born and married in Pennsylvania, she also lived in Michigan, Texas, South Carolina, New Jersey, and Colorado before retiring in Ocala, Florida. Prior to retirement she trained and worked as a licensed cosmetologist and hairdresser. JoAnn enjoyed traveling and cruising with Hank and seeing the country, crocheting, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She spent her final hours in the company of her family at her assisted living facility where she resided. Surviving her are three sons, Todd Zywicki and wife Jeri, Dean Zywicki, and wife Christina, and Daren Zywicki, and wife Sara; and her nine grandchildren, Megan, Marshall, Nicholas, Colton, Dylan, Travis, Blake, Claire, and Grant; and her sister Bonnie (Bernadowski) Yablonsky, her husband Herb, and their son Matthew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hank Zywicki, and her daughter, Tammy Jo Zywicki. Funeral services will be at the West Newton Cemetery chapel, 201 Vernon Drive, West Newton, PA, 15089, at 1pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025, to be followed by interment there.
