James M. Palmieri

James M. Palmieri, 75, of West Newton, died Saturday, March 29, 2025.  He was born July 14, 1949, a son of the late Carmine and Helen (Parise) Palmieri.  Jim served in the Air Force.  A former West Newton councilman, he was a founding member of the West Newton Community TV station.  Jim was an ad hoc mentor and trainer in communications at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.   Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Mary Elizabeth Tamasy; brother, John Palmieri and wife, Kathryn; sisters, Rita Gabonay, and Janet Brinker and husband, Paul; numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, April 12, in Holy Family Church, 225 N.
