Howard R. Edwards, 90, of RuffsDale, died Monday, December 13, 2021. He was born September 25, 1931 in Madison, a son of the late Marvin and Anna (Lhiva) Edwards. Howard was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army. Prior to retirement he was employed by Westinghouse for 32 years. In retirement he enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida. He was always helping other people with odd and small jobs. He was a member of Barren Run United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Gladys (Williams) Edwards; two daughters, Carol Edwards and Charlene Edwards; siblings Catherine “Kate” Hoofner, David Edwards and wife, Anna Marie and Lenora “Lee” Kihn and husband, Rick; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Marvin Edwards, Jr., Lloyd Edwards, Alvin Edwards and Mary Louise Weaver. There will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Saturday in Barren Run United Methodist Church, 569 Barren Run Rd., Smithton. Interment will follow in Barren Run Cemetery. Due to the Covid pandemic, there will be no luncheon following. The family would like to thank Tammi Cochran from Excela Health and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
