George H. "A.J." Wright, Jr.

George H. "A.J." Wright, Jr., 67, of West Newton, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021, surrounded by his family.  He was born June 25, 1954 in Uniontown, son of the late George and Helen (Ross) Wright.  George was a “jack of all trades”, had multiple jobs in his life, the latest as a mechanic at Martinelli’s in West Newton.  His many loves were stock car racing, motorcycles, playing pool, making chili for his friends and spending time with friends at the various social clubs in the area.  Surviving are a daughter, Lana Wright; sisters, Darlene (Robert) Troup, who was his caregiver, Nancy (Dan) Wright-Markle and Bev (Jack) Werner; and many close nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received 2-8 pm Sunday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday.  Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to a local animal rescue.    Condolences may be left at http://www.mccauleyfuneralhome.com.
