George C. Snyder, 87, of West Newton, died Tuesday, June 23, 2026. He was born May 4, 1939 in Saxton, a son of the late Clair and Dorothy (Eichelberger) Snyder. Prior to retirement he was employed for many years by the Federal Reserve Bank in Pittsburgh. He had served in the Army. George was a dedicated father and grandfather who had a unique sense of humor. He enjoyed playing cards with his brothers and watching football. Surviving are three children, Keith Snyder, Laurel Keegan and Jennifer Wiley and husband, James; grandchildren, Joshua Snyder and wife, Ozlam, Kyndll Snyder, Alyssa Keegan, Garrett Prutznal and Gunner Prutznal; great grandchildren, Marlena Snyder, Wyatt Snyder, Liam Snyder, Arya Snyder, and Jaxson Farmer; siblings, Patsy Mykut and husband, Steve, Donnie Snyder, Ron Snyder, Marlene Scarpari and husband, Ed, Tom Snyder and Dennis Snyder; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra (Howard) Snyder; his former spouse, Mary Margaret (Reed) Snyder; brother, Leroy Snyder; and sons-in-law, Jim Keegan and Steve Thompson.
