Florence Morris, 94, passed away on April 27, 2025 peacefully surrounded by family, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital, after a short illness. Florence was born August 3, 1930 in Pittsburgh, to Charles and Elizabeth McGervey. She married Albert B. Morris on June 15, 1948 (Deceased 4/3/1995). They had 10 children, Catherine Teaters deceased (James), Janet Beckinger (Warren), Susan Fisher deceased (Ralph), Albert Morris, Patricia Gebhart (John), John Morris (Donna), Michael Morris (deceased), Glenn Morris, Philip Morris (Carrie), Judy Leska (Paul). They had 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She had 6 siblings: Robert McGervey, Richard McGervey, Charles McGervey (deceased), Evelyn Wilging (deceased), Loretta Schermock, and Betsy Bowser. Florence was a devout Catholic where she attended Holy Family Church in West Newton; she was a member of their Christian Mothers. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting for many family members, friends and charities. An avid Steelers fan, she also enjoyed reading, playing bingo and cards with the residents of Filbern Manor, where she resided before her passing. She always put her family and others first and she will be greatly missed and remembered. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 17, in Holy Family Church 225 N 2nd St., West Newton.
