Duayne Lee Patterson

Duayne Lee Patterson, 74, tragically entered into his eternal life on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Born in Elizabeth, to the late William G. Patterson and Vida Mildred (Messner) Patterson. Survived by wife, Sandra K. Patterson; son, Shawn Patterson (wife Patricia); grandson, Alec Patterson; son, Lee Patterson (fiancé, Erin Durante); step grandchildren, Joanna and Danielle Durante; stepson, Dean Dorsey (wife Mary); step grandchildren, Noah and Aubrey Dorsey and stepdaughter, Kerie Masaitis (husband Christopher); brother of Gene W. Patterson (wife Patricia), Dana R. Schwaed (husband Donald), Gary D. Patterson (wife Carol) and the late Joanne McCorkle (husband Robert) and late Dene G. Patterson (wife Dorothy).  Duayne was a Vietnam Veteran proudly serving in the US Army from November 1965 to September 1967. He was a life member of the VFW, Satellite Beach, FL and served as Senior Vice Commander. He also was a member of the American Legion and Moose. Duayne was president of the condo association where he resided. He worked hard as a construction superintendent and “retired” to the perfect place to live in Satellite Beach, Florida. Duayne was loved and will be missed by everyone he came in contact with whether he knew you for a short or long period of time.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the J. William McCauley, Jr Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton.  Masks must be worn and social distancing be maintained.  The amount of people permitted in the funeral home at once is 40, so please limit your visit out of respect for others.  Services will be private.  Interment with military honors will take place at 12 pm Thursday in West Newton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 4643, 1252 Highway A1A, Satellite Beach, FL 32927.     Condolences may be left at http://www.mccauleyfuneralhomes.com
