Dennis Backus Obituary

Dennis L. Backus, 76, of West Newton, died Sunday, April 17, 2022. He was born August 9, 1945, a son of the late Albert and Sarah Backus. Prior to retirement he was employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport. Dennis was formerly a member of the Beagles Club of Webster. Surviving are his wife, Judy Backus; three children, Deanne Backus, Glen (Connie) Backus, and Denise (Steven) Briggs; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a step daughter, Kimberly (Jayme) Chilzer; two step grandchildren; and two sisters, Peg Hominski and Nancy Hegedus. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Backus; brothers, Albert, Roy and Joe Backus; and sisters, Betty Crusan and Annabelle Faulk. As per Dennis’ wishes, there will be no viewing or services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the J.
