Delores Novacek, 91, of Sutersville, died Sunday, May 16, 2021. She was born September 15, 1929 in Lowber, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Horney) Filapose. Delores was a member of Holy Family Church, West Newton and the former St. Charles Church, Sutersville. Prior to retirement she was employed by Yough School District Food Service. She was an avid card player, book reader and was an exceptional baker. Delores loved her family who will dearly miss her. Surviving are four children, Beverly Tomich and husband, George, John Novacek and wife, Melanie, Allen Novacek and wife, Tina, and David Novacek and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Brett and Mark Tomich, Holly Meier, Samantha Zak, Nicholas, Katie and Allen Novacek, Christy Oliver and Patty Mangialardi; great grandchildren, Remmy, Charlie and Aurora Meier, Oakley and Kennedy Oliver, and Johanna and Pippa Mangialardi; sisters-in-law, Arlene Filapose and Karen Filapose; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Yunchy” Novacek; brothers, John and Eugene Filapose; and sister, Loretta Filapose. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton. Please follow CDC guidelines and respect the limit on attendance.
