Clyde G. Bittner, Jr., 72, of West Newton, died Monday, December 30, 2024. He was born December 4, 1952, son of the late Clyde and Alberta (Lemley) Bittner. Clyde was retired from the US Air Force Reserve and was a member of First Baptist Church, West Newton, and the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. He was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather. Surviving are six children, Elaina (Thomas) Parker, Clyde “CJ” (Rebecca) Bittner, William P. Bittner, Sr., Holly (Lester) Greenawalt, Brandi Bittner (Cameron), and Caitie (Cole) McGee; 14 grandchildren, Haley Bittner, Lucas Bittner, Savana Bittner, Lester Greenawalt IV, William Bittner, Nicholas Greenawalt, Austin Bittner, Aden Bittner, Justin Greenawalt, Michael Parker, Emilee Parker, Greyson Kadylak, Ethan Greenawalt, and Kenna McGee; neighbors, Jackie and Maryann Stroshire; and his faithful companion, Little Girl. Friends will be received 2-6 pm Friday, with a service at 6pm at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St., West Newton. Private interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to assist with funeral expenses, through the funeral home website or directly to the funeral home.
