Carmen E. Yates, 60, of West Newton, formerly of Turtle Creek, died Sunday, August 28, 2022. He was born January 30, 1962 a son of the late Albert and Doris (Halstead) Yates. Carmen worked as a mechanic. Surviving are three sons, Carmen Yates, Jr., Jonathan Yates and Benjamen Yates; three grandchildren, Kaleb, Mina and Lydia; four siblings, Debbie (Skip) Povanda, Theresa (Tom) Fedigan, Tony Yates and Kim Dietz; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Florencia “Lhett” Mattis; and a brother, Larry Yates; and a sister, Bonnie Ireland. There will be no viewing. A celebration of Carmen’s life will be held from noon to 5 pm Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Goehring Park, behind Giant Eagle on Robertson Street in West Newton.
