Benjamin L. Mitchell, 93, of West Newton, died Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was born February 7, 1930 in Confluence, a son of the late Benjamin and Margery “Dolly” (Fulmer) Mitchell. Ben retired as a plant manager after 27 years with Shuster’s Building Components. He served in the Army Reserves, was a member of Journey by Grace Church, Rostraver, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and archery. Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Kelly; grandchildren, Jennifer, Travis, Jared, Clarissa, Michaela, Alex, and Matthew Mitchell, and Brian Kelly; half-sister, Kathy Sandy; half-brother, Robert Dave and wife, Dee; brother, Charles Mitchell; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Brown and husband, James; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Marlene (Kimberly) Mitchell; sons, Scott and Fred Mitchell; stepfather, Phil Dave; half-brother, Terry Dave; brother, Milton “Bud” Mitchell; and son-in-law, Lee Kelly. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Thursday.
