Arthur King, III, 66, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully and blessedly on Monday, July 4, 2022. He was born December 16, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Mariann King and the late Dr. Arthur King. Art graduated from West Newton High School and W&J College. He moved to Florida in 1988 and worked for the government until August 2020, when his third bout with cancer forced his retirement. His favorite pastimes were sitting down with family and friends, skiing, golfing and cheering on all of the Pittsburgh sports teams. Art was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in West Newton. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a nephew Adam King. In addition to his mother, he is survived by five siblings, Lori (Rob) Luppold, Greg (Deb) King, Jon King, Janice (Rick) Virgin and Kurt (Dena) King; nieces and nephews, Ryan King, Drew, Alyssa and Tyler King, Natalie Luppold, Lauren and Jake Virgin, and Kennedy and Cassidy King; and numerous great nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr, Pittsburgh PA 15205 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
