Andrew B. Chopp, 99, of Sutersville, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 1, 1922 in Sutersville, a son of the late John and Barbara (Lesso) Chopp, Sr. Andy was a 1941 graduate of Sewickley High School. Prior to retirement he was employed by Consolidated Coal Company for over 40 years. A life-long Catholic, he was a member of Holy Family Church, West Newton and its Holy Name Society. He served as a sexton for the former St. Charles Church in Sutersville. A man of great faith and prayer, he was a good and generous father to all. Surviving are five children, Barbara Jarmon, Rita (Mike) Pruni, Coleen Martz, Terry (Rebecca) Chopp, and Brian (Deborah) DeClaudio; daughter-in-law, Paula DeClaudio; son-in-law, John Lubinsky; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Taylor) Chopp; his second wife, Margaret “Peg” (Massung) Chopp; children, Andy Chopp, Pamela Chopp, Wayne DeClaudio, and Kathy Lubinsky; a grandson; and sons-in-law, Cecil Jarmon and Roger Martz; siblings, John Chopp , Anna Huss, Mary Skutt, Irene Rozak, Joseph Chopp, George “Sarge” Chopp, Pauline Kezmah, Evelyn Chopp, Steve Chopp and Andrew Chopp. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8pm Friday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine Street, West Newton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12pm Saturday in Holy Family Church, West Newton. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
