She enjoyed fellowship at the Church of the Nazarene in Smithton. For many years, she was a member of a bowling league in Rostraver Township. She was famous for her raisin-filled cookies, apple dumplings and potato soup.  In later years, she took up sketching and painting. She took classes at the Westmoreland County Community College for watercolor and sketching.
