Robert E. Tarr, Sr., 91, of West Newton, died Saturday, November 10, 2018.  He was born January 18, 1927 in Kreiger, a son of the late David and Gladys (Bowman) Tarr.  Prior to retirement he was a barber in RuffsDale for 38 years.  He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, West Newton, East Huntingdon and West Newton Sportsmen’s Clubs, and was a former board member of Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Tarrs.  Bob was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy.  He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.  After retiring, he traveled extensively in the United States with family and friends.  Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Margie (Hula) Tarr; children, Robert Tarr, Jr., Mary Rendulic and husband, Rob, Lee Tarr, and Sally Smor and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Grace and husband, Blake, Mitchell, Ann Marie, Karin, Amy, and Jeffery; great grandchildren, Brody, Devon, Corbin, Quinton, Tommy, and Julian.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Harland Tarr; and great grandson, Jordan Bryan.  Friends will be received 4-8 pm Monday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St. West Newton.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am Tuesday in Christ Lutheran Church, Vine and 4th  St., West Newton.  Everyone will meet at church.  Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.  The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their care.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Newton Little House Assn., c/o 1114 Vine St., West Newton, PA 15089.  Condolences may be left at http://www.mccauleyfuneralhomes.com
