Lois Davis Oblak, 94, formerly of Rostraver Township, PA died July 14, 2018 at UPMC East. She was born on August 10, 1923 in West Newton, PA, the daughter of Sidney Earl Davis and Virginia Gordon Davis. Her maternal grandmother, Keziah Newlin Gordon, was an important part of her early years.
She graduated from West Newton High School in 1941 and earned a degree in education from the University of Michigan. Before her marriage to John Andrew Oblak in 1950, she taught mathematics at Limon High School in Limon, Colorado. Through the years she enjoyed corresponding with some of her Limon students. Music was an important part of her life and she took pleasure in sharing her ability to play the piano and the pipe organ with her church and others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Oblak in 2013, her daughter, Nancy Oblak Moore in February 2018, her sister Helen “Patty” Davis Hauschild in 2002 and her daughter-in-law Connie Dinch Oblak in 2015.
She was very proud of her four children, three of whom survive, John Stewart Oblak of Waseca, MN, Tod Andrew Oblak (wife Jill) of Wilkins Township, PA and Sally Ann Oblak at home. She was equally proud of her four grandchildren, Alison Moore Kellar (husband Matthew), John W. Oblak, James A. Oblak, and Emily Lauren Oblak. She welcomed two very special great grandchildren, Stella and Simon Kellar.
