Lawrence "Patsy" Brunory Obituary

Lawrence A. “Patsy” Brunory, 100, of Sutersville, passed away on October 25, 2018.  He was born on July 15, 1918 in Industry.  He is the last surviving member of 8 sons and daughters of the Dominic and Nazzarena Brunory family.  His work career began as a teen in the Civil Conservation Corps.  He is a decorated veteran of World War II, retired employee of the P&LE Railroad, Boy Scout leader, lifelong member of PM Church where he taught Sunday School, a Yough River Trail advocate and supporter, amateur archeologist, and an avid reader.  He loved day trips to flea markets, parks, and festivals with his wife and grandchildren.  He seldom spent a day apart from his wife of 76 years.  Patsy was a loving husband, father, uncle, and friend to all.  Among all of his many achievements and accomplishments, he was proudest of his family and his friends who he cherished.  He is survived by his loving wife Agnes (Hellier) Brunory; children, John Brunory (Melinda), Paula DeClaudio, and Patti Ferree (Jim); grandchildren, John Brunory, Jr. and Teena, Michael DeClaudio (Dana), Diana (Ted) and Heather (George); great grandchildren, Kasie, Desiree, Thomas, Travis, Julianna, Teddy, Dom, Maddi, Anna, and Ilya; and great-great grandchild, Rory.  Also survived by sister-in-law, Priscilla Vilcheck; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by son-in-law, Wayne DeClaudio; granddaughter, Theressa Marie; and brother-in-law, Steve Vilcheck.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St. West Newton, where a funeral service will be held at 10 am Monday.  Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, McKeesport.  The family extends their thanks to the many dear caregivers at home and at TLC who cared for Patsy as if he were their own “Pap”.  In lieu of flowers you may consider a donation to a charity of your choice.    Condolences may be left at http://www.mccauleyfuneralhomes.com
