Joseph M. Parker, Jr., 80, of Rostraver Township, formerly of West Newton, after a long struggle with cancer and surrounded by his loved ones went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 10, 2018. He is survived by his wife Mary (Olschon); her son Paul Rupert and daughter Aleta Rupert; his sons Joe (Tricia), John (Sharon) and George; his grandchildren, Megan (fiancé Nick Cornell), Michael, and Emily (Joe); Anina, Christian and Jonathan (John) and Nathan and Nicholas (George); his sister Rosalie Schneider (Dieter) and brother William (Judy); sister-in-law Atsuko Parker; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lana (Boyer), his parents, Joseph M. Parker, Sr. and Rosalie (Netzlof), and his brother Peter. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was retired from the railroad where he worked for 43 years. He enjoyed the great outdoors and shared his love of fishing and hunting with many friends, family and his sons. Joe enjoyed travelling to the casinos and playing cards with many groups of friends who will surely miss his quick wit and humor. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, March15th, at the J. William McCauley Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 901 Vine St., West Newton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday in the United Presbyterian Church, 4th and Main Sts., West Newton, officiated by Pastor John Manon. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. The family would like to wish a special thank you to all the hospice nurses and staff of Asera Care for the kind and gentle care provided to Joe.
