Donald A. Walczak, Sr.
July 28, 1928 ~ January 9, 2018 (age 89) 89 Years OldDonald A. Walczak, Sr., 89, of Delmont, passed away Tuesday morning, January 9, 2018, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born in Buffalo, NY on July 28, 1928, a son of the late John J. and Virginia Walczak. Donald was a member of St. John Baptist de LaSalle Church, Delmont. He was a graduate of Canisius High School and Canisius College, both in Buffalo. He served as a medic in the Korean War. Prior to retirement in 1997 he was employed in the semi-conductor division of Westinghouse in Youngwood. Surviving are two sons, Donald (Maryann) Walczak, Jr. of Greensburg and Thomas (Taffy) Walczak of West Newton; grandchildren, Becky (Ryan) Sanders, Patty Walczak, Chrissy Walczak and Gregg Nogy; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Joann Boyle of Virginia and Christine Kole of Lancaster, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Pawlowski Walczak on August 11, 2015, a daughter, Patricia Ann Walczak; three brothers, John L. Walczak, Thomas A. Matre, and Richard Matre. Donald was a loving husband and father and will be missed. He will meet his many beloved dogs at the Rainbow Bridge. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8pm Friday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 901 Vine St. West Newton. Graveside Service and interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, Delaware.
