Violet Joan (Smaldon) Fossi

Violet “Joan” Fossi, 93, of Blythedale, died Sunday, March 18, 2018.  She was born December 26, 1924 in Newton Abbott, England, a daughter of the late Alborn and Elsie (Ericson) Smaldon.  Surviving are a son, Alan Fossi of Herminie; a granddaughter, Emily Fossi of Greensburg; a grandson, Aaron Fossi and wife, Julie, of Stamford, CT; great grandchildren, Violet and Cecilia Fossi; and a brother, David Smaldon and wife, Peggy, of England.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Aldo Fossi; and daughter-in-law, Karen Fossi.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8pm Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St. West Newton, where funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday.  Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sewickley Township Library, 201 Highland Ave., Herminie, PA 15637.  Condolences may be left at http://www.mccauleyfuneralhome.com
