Stephen “Istvan” Bartos, 83, of Lowber died on April 26, 2017.  He was born in Nagyszokoly, Hungary.  A son of the late Joseph and Esther Bartos.  He was proud to be a member of the Hungarian Army.  He fought during the Hungarian Revolution against Russia and Communism in 1956.  He also worked border control during the Revolution.  He worked as an electrician for U.S. Steel Duquesne Works and Tanto Construction Company.  He loved dancing, gardening, and an animal lover, especially his dogs, Mia and Leo and his cat, Ernie.  He was a Steeler and Penguin fan.  He was the husband of the late Nancy Farmer.  He is survived by sons Steve (Kim) Bartos of Irwin, Bryan (Ruth) of Hunker and Ryan (Jamie Reno) of Prospect, daughters Laura Kardos (Michael) and Brenda Smouse (Donald) of Lowber and Cindy Lash (James) of West Newton.  He is also survived by Gizella, a cousin living in Hungary.  Also surving are grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, Stephanie, Nathan, Ashley, Lynnann, Amie, Christopher, Lacey, Bryan, Ryan, Dylan, Dustin, Breanne and Cameron;  great-grandchildren Angel, Ava, Annabelle, Kendra, Landyn, Easton, Tyler, Brendon, Mason, Kayden, Griffin, Taylor and Milan.  Friends will be received Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 901 Vine St. West Newton, where services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at  11:00 a.m.  Condolences may be left at http://www.mccauleyfuneralhome.com
