Age 94, of West Newton. “What one does for a mother when she is living…one will never regret when she is gone.” Our mom, Sophy (Booley) Rozinsky, made her final act of love by passing peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2018. She was born June 10, 1923 in West Newton, a daughter of the late Alexander and Eva (Wozniak) Booley. Sophy was an active member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She had a strong dedication for volunteering for various community services. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family, holidays, and vacations at the beach. An avid reader, she wrote short stories of her early life to be shared with family and friends. Surviving are four daughters, Eva Marie (Dane Medich) Rozinsky, Veronica (Paul) Godleski, Christine (Roger) Rollin, and Gloria (Bill) Hoffmann; five grandchildren, Alexanna and Ilena Godleski, Victoria and Nicholas Rollin, and Stefan Hoffmann, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo F. Rozinsky, and brothers and sisters, Paul Booley, Mary Curry, Stephen, John, Charles, and Peter Booley, Ann Angelcyk, and Catherine Hogan. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8pm Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 901 Vine St. West Newton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in Holy Family Church, West Newton. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
